Client Senior Accountant

Position Summary
Blackman & Sloop CPAs, a strong local firm with a positive culture and growing business is currently seeking a Client Senior Accountant for a challenging, flexible and rewarding position working with clients in a variety of different industries such as Non-Profit, Small Business, Construction, Manufacturing, Medical, Real Estate, Retail, Hospitality, Education and more. 


The successful candidate will have proven experience in a similar role at a CPA firm or in private industry, strong knowledge of general accounting/bookkeeping practices, and knowledge of accounting related software.  This role can be remote/hybrid.

Responsibilities
  • Perform technical review work of associates and seek opportunities to train and educate
  • Assist with accounting/bookkeeping, payroll, sales tax filings, financial statement preparation and accounts receivable/payable processes
  • Provide Quickbooks consulting services for clients
  • Participate in month-end and year-end closing process for multiple clients/companies
  • Seek opportunities for process improvement
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
  • Interact with clients to provide advisory and accounting services that fit their unique needs

Qualifications
  • 4+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
  • Experience with small businesses and nonprofit organizations preferred
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable/receivable principles and knowledge of financial statement preparation
  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office, Quickbooks, and other accounting software/databases
  • Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to ask questions and look for better ways of completing tasks
  • Inquisitive and always seeking to learn new things
  • Open minded and energetic
  • Desire for personal growth and advancement opportunity
  • Self-starter with the ability to work individually or in team
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm and sense of humor are musts!
  • Strong communication skills and professionalism in managing client relationships
