Senior Tax Associate - Non Profit and Individual Tax (In Office or Hybrid 

Located in Chapel Hill, NC Blackman & Sloop, CPAs, P.A. is a single-office firm with approximately 45 full-time staff.  As a locally based accounting firm, we facilitate our clients' ambitions to expand throughout the Research Triangle area, state, and country, while still providing each client the personal time and attention on which we pride ourselves.

Job Description
As a Senior Tax Associate, you will prepare a variety of tax engagements including individual and non-profit returns. You will be expected to manage clients independently and possess excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills.  Our company is team-oriented and prides itself on providing quality work and excellent customer relations in a family-friendly, superior working environment. Responsibilities:
  • Apply tax knowledge to preparation and/or review of individual and non-profit returns.
  • Gather data from client and third party sources
  • Perform tax research with view for compliance and alternatives to satisfy client's objections
  • Prepare/analyze income tax notices for federal and state jurisdictions
  • Client management and participation in marketing/business development
  • Participation in recruitment and supervision of entry-level staff

Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of tax preparation experience
  • Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines.
  • Excellent work ethic and a sense of humor are a must!

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Credentials - CPA/EA license or candidate
  • Individual and Non Profit tax return experience (including  Form 990 and 990 - PF)
  • Knowledge of CCH Axcess Tax, CCH Engagement, and QuickBooks
